Heavenly Bodies

I mean besides the Cavs sweeping the Raptors last night, what’s trending more than the slay that is the Met Gala. (I’m from Cleveland, sooo I kind of had to)

This year’s theme was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” This was designed to create dialogue between fashion and the masterworks of religious art. (Borrelli-Persson, Vogue). I included my favs and not so favs from the night. Of course, I had to include menswear as well. I loved so many it was hard to narrow it down. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

  1. Rihanna

Rihanna clearly stole the show wearing Maison Margiela. She definitely nailed the theme, my fav!

2. Blake Lively

Wearing Atelier Versace, I mean she does no wrong…and the headpiece to top it off. She never misses..I’m in love!!!

3. J Lo

She KILLED this theme fitting Balmain gown. And the shoes were just perfect to top it off.

  1. Gisele Bundchen

This looks more like a prom dress and it does not fit the theme at all in my opinion. She’s wearing Versace.

2. Tiffany Haddish

I can’t even give an ‘A’ for effort because I don’t think there was any. The hair, nails and makeup alone could have been better and POSSIBLY would have given it a better turnout. She is wearing Brandon Maxwell.

Favorite Men

Chadwick Boseman wearing Versace and Jared Lato wearing Gucci. They both killed the theme…A King!! Best dressed men at the gala.

  1. Very interesting fashion show. I like Blake Lively’s dress best. It has a touch of royalty. Love it! I definitely see how Giselle gown had nothing to do with the theme.

  2. OMG — I did an IG Story on the Met Gala! I loved Rihanna and Blake Lively — Lively’s dress was so stunning and elaborate. I also like Amal Clooney and Cardi B. Chadwick looked ethereal in his outfit and I actually really liked Donald Glover in his head to toe Gucci. The color purple of his suit was great.

    Loved this post! x

  3. Some of these designs were drop-dead stunning. Like my jaw definitely hit the floor once or twice. I can’t say we have seen anything so captivating in the fashion industry, for a while, that has a lot of people talking about.
